One of the largest commercial solar PV installations in the state is ready to reap the benefits of the sun, following the implementation of a solar PV pilot between Aurora Energy, Beon Energy Solutions and SRT Logistics.
The installation was recently completed at Tasmanian-owned transport company SRT Logistics across two of its distribution centres in Launceston and Devonport.
The solution was custom-designed to meet the specific electricity requirements of SRT Logistics, while optimizing the existing infrastructure and geographical features to produce the most efficient system possible.
Combined, the state-of-the-art 2,546 panel, 831 kW solar system, will generate over 1 million kWhs per year, or the equivalent of powering 143 homes.
Beon Energy Solutions general manager Glen Thomson said its technical expertise in delivering solar PV systems combined with Aurora Energy’s knowledge in electricity consumption will help to deliver great customer outcomes.
“We’re building on similar successes with other energy-intensive customers and are thrilled to be helping SRT Logistics improve their energy efficiency and reduce their operating costs,” Mr Thomson said.
Aurora Energy CEO Rebecca Kardos said the business would continue to explore the role it could play in the delivery of renewable energy solutions for its commercial customers.
