About the project

Avonlie Solar Farm is a ground-mounted solar farm located in Narrandera, New South Wales. The farm has a total energy capacity of 245 MW, powered through the installation of over 450,000 photovoltaic (PV) modules.

Beon was selected to design, construct, test and commission the 245MW(DC) Avonlie solar farm which directly connects to a dual 132kV grid connection. The project utilises inverters from Power Electronics and the NEXTracker tracking system. Avonlie Solar Farm generates approximately 500 gigawatt hours of renewable energy per year.

The Avonlie Solar farm is owned by Iberdrola Australia.

First Peoples’ engagement

Our engagement strategy is founded on open communication, mutual respect, and shared benefits. We actively seek to involve local First Nations communities in decision-making processes, drawing upon their traditional knowledge and perspectives.

Through skill development programs, training initiatives, and job opportunities, we aim to enhance economic empowerment and create a lasting impact on the communities we operate within.
During the construction of the Avonlie Solar Farm, Beon employed 30 First Nations people to ensure a shared prosperity on Wiradjuri land.
